About JH Pierce Wealth Management PC

JH Pierce Wealth Management PC is an independent advisory firm serving business owners and high-income families, with a strong focus on rural America. We operate under a planning-first, implementation-second philosophy and deliver integrated advice across three core tracks:

Track 2:
Business Growth & Exit Planning

Track 3:
Employee Benefits & Retirement Plans

We are intentionally building an internal team of specialists who collaborate deeply to deliver clarity, strategy, and execution—not siloed advice.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically capable Benefits Advisor to help manage and grow our 401(k) and employer retirement plan division. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working through the technical and operational details of retirement plans while also supporting employers and their employees with a high level of care and accuracy.

The Benefits Advisor will play a key role in 401(k) plan startups and conversions, participant enrollment and rollovers, ongoing plan oversight, and coordination with plan administrators and third-party providers. This position also includes light financial planning and occasional involvement with advanced plan strategies

This is a full-time, in-person position based in our Wyoming office.

Key Responsibilities
401(k) Implementation & Participant Support
  • Guide employer clients through 401(k) plan startups and conversions, coordinating with recordkeepers, TPAs, payroll providers, and custodians
  • Organize and conduct employee enrollment meetings (in-person and virtual)
  • Work directly with plan participants to:
    • Complete enrollments and contribution elections
    • Facilitate rollovers from prior plans or IRAs
    • Provide education on plan features, employer matches, and investment options
  • Ensure enrollment and rollout processes are executed accurately and efficiently
Ongoing Plan Administration & Compliance Oversight
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for plan sponsors and plan administrators
  • Assist with annual compliance testing in coordination with third-party administrators
  • Monitor plans for early indicators of misalignment or inefficiencies, including:
    • Participation or deferral issues
    • At-risk nondiscrimination testing
    • Suboptimal plan design or utilization
  • Support ongoing plan documentation, reporting, and client communication
Plan Design & Advanced Strategy Support
  • Assist with discretionary match and profit-sharing planning
  • Support the analysis and occasional implementation of cash balance plans
  • Periodically assist with nonqualified deferred compensation plans and other employee benefit strategies, as needed
  • Work closely with advisors, operations staff, and external partners
  • Demonstrate strong self-accountability with the ability to execute independently
  • Delegate appropriately while maintaining ownership and follow through
  • Maintain high standards for accuracy, organization, and technical precision
Qualifications & Experience Required or Strongly Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field
  • Series 65 license, or willingness to obtain it immediately upon hire
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort with technical plan provisions
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and accountable
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team based, in-office environment
Preferred (Not Required)
  • Experience administering or supporting 401(k) or other qualified retirement plans
  • Familiarity with retirement plan compliance and testing concepts
  • Experience working with TPAs, recordkeepers, or payroll providers
