Full Time Management – Lusk, WY, US
Salary Range: $85,000.00 – $ Annually
General Purpose: The RN Chief Nursing Officer provides leadership, positive role modeling, and critical thinking skills. The CNO acts as liaison across Emergency Department, Acute Care, Swing Bed, and Extended Care Services while promoting staff development and teamwork.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Assist staff with workload assignment, clinical resource, and fair staffing.
- Ensure professional and efficient change of shift reports.
- Communicate effectively with clinic and emergency providers to implement physician orders safely.
- Anticipate patient care needs and staffing requirements; evaluate clinical and operational data.
- Provide leadership during emergency situations throughout the facility.
- Maintain a positive unit atmosphere, advocate for staff and patients, and provide hands‑on assessment and care as needed.
- Preceptor for nursing students and new personnel; orient new staff (permanent and contract).
- Identify and solve unit problems (understaffing, absenteeism, waste) and collaborate with the Director of Nursing and CEO for corrective action.
- Monitor supplies and equipment use, requisition supplies, and recommend waste reduction and performance improvements.
- Prepare work schedules and assign duties to nursing staff for efficient personnel use.
- Enforce NCHD policies and departmental rules; hold staff accountable; create new policies as warranted.
- Oversee patient care delivery in the absence of the Director of Nursing; communicate with him/her regarding patient‑care issues.
- Maintain required certifications, continuing education, and annual competencies; attend mandatory meetings and trainings.
The CNO will supervise RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and other support staff during their shift.
Education & Credentials- Graduate of a licensed nursing school; BSN preferred.
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC required.
- Experience with Electronic Health Records preferred.
At least two years in a similar setting; one year of supervisory experience preferred.
