Job Responsibilities for Fire Alarm Electrician
  • Installation and Maintenance:
    Install, maintain, and repair fire alarm systems in commercial and industrial settings, including wiring, panels, circuits, alarms, and notification systems.
  • Troubleshooting and Repairs:
    Diagnose and troubleshoot fire alarm system issues, using a variety of tools and techniques to identify and resolve problems efficiently.
  • Compliance with Codes and Standards:
    Ensure all fire alarm installations and repairs comply with local, state, and federal fire codes, safety regulations, and building standards.
  • Blueprint Interpretation:
    Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to plan and execute fire alarm installations and upgrades.
  • System Upgrades and Modifications:
    Upgrade or modify existing fire alarm systems to improve performance or meet new requirements, such as adding new devices or enhancing system coverage.
  • Safety Protocols:
    Adhere to strict safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, to ensure the safety of the work environment.
  • Collaboration:

    Work closely with other contractors, engineers, and team members to complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Preventive Maintenance:
    Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on fire alarm systems to reduce downtime and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Emergency Response:
    Provide on-call support for emergency fire alarm system repairs, ensuring quick response and resolution of critical issues.
Qualifications

Be prepared to document five (5) or more years of electrical construction experience.
