General Description

The Wyoming Military Department is seeking a working Skilled Trades Supervisor for general maintenance, preventative, predictive, and repair of all infrastructure, including all facilities, grounds, and training ranges. Works accordingly with WYARNG values, mission, and vision to provide adequate accommodations and training opportunities for visiting units.

Essential Functions

The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level.

  • Receive, distribute, and help execute work orders handed down from the manager by priority to subordinate employees and other personnel assigned to the area.
  • Supervise projects and maintenance in the respective area.
  • Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC, welding, carpentry, frame and form.
  • Preventative and predictive maintenance on multiple range complexes, buildings, road networks, and culverts.
  • Operating light to heavy equipment.
  • Maintain/ clean a fleet of military and state equipment.
  • Maintain inventories for state and military equipment.
  • Fire mitigation/ maintenance to include fire breaks and fuel breaks.
  • Weed mitigation, parking areas, buildings, and paddocks.
  • Grounds maintenance, including mowing, weed eating, and sprinkler systems.
  • Provide inspections on all buildings, grounds, ranges, and fire breaks to include safety aspects.
  • Provides documentation to the environmental department for upcoming projects, maintenance, and chemical reports.
  • Attend Meetings, daily, weekly, and monthly as needed for specialized coordination and situational awareness.
  • Abides by and enforces the State of Wyoming and Military Department guidelines and policies.
  • Perform performance appraisals, counseling, etc., for the subordinate workforce.
Qualifications

Preferences:
Preference will be given to candidates who have knowledge and experience working maintenance at Camp Guernsey.

Knowledge
  • Ability to secure and maintain unclassified security clearance.
  • Operating light to heavy equipment.
  • Knowledge in the trade fields.
  • Computer skills, word, excel, and power point.
Minimum Qualifications

Education & Experience Substitution: 3-5 years of progressive work experience (typically in Skilled Trades) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Skilled Trades Specialist.

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree (typically in Management).

Experience:

0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Skilled Trades) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Skilled Trades Specialist.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
None.

Physical Working Conditions
  • Employee must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid Wyoming driver’s license is required.
