Lab Pack Chemist -
Turn complex chemical waste into safe, compliant solutions
You know your chemistry. Here, you’ll put it to work in the field—at customer sites—where decisions matter and your expertise keeps people and the environment safe.
You’ll be the one identifying unknowns, segregating chemicals, and packaging hazardous and non-hazardous waste so it moves safely and legally through the world.
This is hands‑on, boots‑on‑the‑ground chemistry work. Not lab theory.
You’ll also lead tech/chemist teams as needed, interface directly with customers, and become the trusted expert they call when they need waste handled right the first time.
If you’ve packed drums, done waste characterization, or worked in environmental services, we want to talk to you.
You’ll work at various customer locations, handling real‑world chemical waste streams and all the documentation that goes with them:
Hazardous and non-hazardous waste at customer facilities
Chemical segregations and lab packs
Unknown waste characterization
Consolidation and chemical relocations
Decontamination and related projects
Drum preparation, inspection, and shipment readiness
Customer‑specific disposal and packaging requirements
Regulatory-driven documentation and shipping records
You’ll be working within EPA, DOT, TSDF restrictions and company policies to make sure every container is safe, compliant, and ready to move.
Your core challenge: turn messy, complex waste situations into clean, compliant shipping units—every single time.
Complying with all health and safety practices and acting safely at all times
Performing field work including consolidation, lab packs, and chemical relocations
Executing decontamination and other industry‑related field projects

Obtaining and recording accurate billing information for proper customer billing
Interfacing directly with clients to understand disposal and packaging requirements
Providing lab pack services and best management practice suggestions to customers
Ensuring overall quality control of materials to be shipped
Verifying drum counts and ensuring drum condition meets US DOT and company requirements
Completing administrative and transportation paperwork (packing lists, waste characterization forms, LDR forms, manifests, etc.)Working at one or more customer locations up to 40 hours per week
Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field, or a minimum of two years of waste disposal experience
Prior waste characterization experience preferred
Current OSHA 40-hour and DOT Hazardous Materials certifications preferred
Ability to pass a respirator qualification test Ability to lift 40 pounds and move 300‑pounds drums with a drum cart Professional attitude with effective communication skills
Basic computer knowledge and skills

Ability to travel for one to two weeks once a quarter
Able to drive/operate a small box truck with medical card
You’ve been out in the field—at plants, labs, or industrial sites—handling real waste streams, not just reading about them. You’re comfortable around drums and manifests, and you know how to keep projects moving while staying firmly inside EPA and DOT rules.
You can walk into a storage room full of containers, quickly make sense of what you’re seeing, and drive a safe, compliant plan for segregation, packing, and shipment while keeping the customer found.
