Job Purpose and SummaryWithin our Retail locations, we bring this promise to life with heart every day. Our Pharmacy Technicians play a critical role in supporting our pharmacy teams to consistently deliver on our brand promise. As a Technician, you assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly, prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately, and that patients receive caring service that exceeds expectations.
Responsibilities- Live our purpose by following all company SOPs at each pharmacy workstation to help our Pharmacists manage and improve patient health.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures (production, pick‑up, drive‑thru, and drop‑off) for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, offering immunizations and other services, and demonstrating compassionate care by solving or escalating patient problems.
- Complete basic inventory activities as permitted by law, such as accurately putting away medication deliveries and completing cycle counts, returns‑to‑stocks, and waiting bin inventories.
- Contribute to a high‑performing team, embrace a growth mindset, and seek opportunities to expand clinical and technical knowledge.
- Remain flexible for both scheduling and business needs, and voluntarily travel to stores in the market to work shifts as required.
- Understand and comply with all relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles, and comply with CVS policies to ensure patient safety and privacy.
- Deliver additional patient health care services (e.g., immunizations, point‑of‑care testing, and optionally staffing off‑site clinics) where allowable by law and supported by required training and certification.
- Complete additional licensure and training to obtain Technician Immunizer status.
- Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and refer vaccination questions to the Pharmacist‑on‑duty.
- Monitor and respond to adverse reactions, and report adverse reaction events per public health requirements.
- Review, collect, and document patient information for each applicable patient.
- Monitor and manage vaccine supplies.
- Comply with any state board of pharmacy requirements or laws governing the practice of pharmacy, which includes but is not limited to age, education, and licensure/certification.

- If the state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum age requirement, must be at least 16 years of age.
- If the state board of pharmacy does not address or mandate a minimum educational requirement, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or be actively enrolled in a high school or high school equivalency program.
- 1–3 years of previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to work in the home store and across the market in other locations to meet business needs.

Pay RangeTypical Pay Range For This Role Is $16.00 – $24.00 per hour.
