Admissions Assistant - Yadkin Nursing Care Center

We are currently seeking an experienced Admissions Assistant.

• Assures the admission of residents whose needs can be adequately and appropriately met in the Nursing Center environment.
• Screens all prospective admissions to determine that the delivery of appropriate care will be provided in the long term care setting.
• Assesses cost‑of‑care of prospective admissions appropriate to the level of care as determined by the admitting physician.
• Provides appropriate forms necessary to request adequate medical information to make decisions regarding admissions.
• Obtains necessary insurance verifications and prior approvals to guarantee appropriate payment source.
• Interviews patients and/or resident family members during admission application process.
• Explains cost of care involved in appropriate levels‑of‑care as determined or required by the admitting physician.
• Serves as a liaison between families and hospital discharge planners, social service agencies, and physicians.
• After hours and weekend work may be required.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Willingly work and cooperate with other employees.
• Ability to problem‑solve and work well under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask.
• Prefer customer service experience.
• Prefer some long term care or related health care experience.
• Demonstrate neat appearance and good personal hygiene.
• Read, know and follow personnel, department, and facility policies.
• Knowledgeable of local, state and federal regulations as relates to admissions, prospective payment, and patient care.
