Human Resources Generalist

Provides Human Resource support in the areas of Benefits Administration, Recruitment and Retention, and Employee Relations, as well as special projects as directed for a manufacturing operation. Serves as back‑up for other HR team members as needed.

• Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
• Monitors and updates employee attendance tracking system.
• Handles employment‑related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
• Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
• Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
• Provides support in benefits administration for Health and Welfare Benefit Plans including Medical, Dental, Vision, HSA, FSA, COBRA, Life, Disability, FMLA, and Telemedicine.
• Performs corrections and employee status changes as needed in HRIS systems.
• Supports HR staff to recruit, interview, and facilitate the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
• Assists in the New Hire and Onboarding of new hires.
• Tracks work‑related injuries, submits Workers Compensation initial claims, supports in recording OSHA logs and works with supervisors to monitor return‑to‑work programs.
• Monitors all FMLA and Disability claims for domestic locations with vendor and location HR staff.
• Completes special projects as directed.
• Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

• Strongly preferred:
  Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field or proven equivalent experience.
• At least three years of human resource management experience required.
• Thorough knowledge of employment‑related laws and regulations.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
• Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Working knowledge of HRIS.
• Exceptional organizational skills and detail orientation.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and act as a trusted member of the HR Staff.
