Position: Instructor - HVAC/R Technology Program (Night)

Instructor – HVAC/R Technology Program

Join Perry Technical Institute as a full‑time, year‑round instructor in the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technology program. This position reports to the HVAC/R Department Head and has evening teaching hours: 3:45 PM – 10:45 PM (Mon – Thu), 9:30 AM – 8:30 PM (Fri). The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching all eight quarters of the HVAC/R program.

Working Conditions

Duties are performed in a classroom and lab environment aligned with career and technical education. Teachers develop lesson plans, deliver lectures, supervise laboratory activities, and perform administrative tasks such as word processing, phone calls, and e‑mail communication.

Salary
  • Salary range: $80,000 – $85,000 per year

Minimum Qualifications
  • Three (3) years of related practical work experience in the subject area(s) taught.
  • 06A license or eligibility to obtain the 06A license within 180 days of employment.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to interface with business and professional constituents.
  • Computer proficiency.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license, a working vehicle, acceptable driving record, and proof of insurance.
  • Willingness to consent to a drug test.
  • Proficiency in reading, speaking, and effectively communicating in English.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certificate of completion from an accredited career school or an associate degree in the relevant subject area.
  • Previous teaching experience.
