Triumph Actuation & Landing Gear Systems designs, manufactures, assembles, tests, and provides MRO services for aerospace products and systems that include hydraulic actuators, hydraulic valves and manifolds, hydraulic fuses, and repeatable release holdback bars and employs more than 450 employees in Redmond, WA, Yakima, WA, and Valencia, CA.The Yakima facility is an industry leader in landing gear actuation, providing actuation components to every major aircraft manufacturer and is the sole supplier of the critical repeatable release holdback bars used for launching US Navy fighter jets from aircraft carriers.

The Redmond facility maintains a unique capability for systems engineering and integration, as well as hydromechanical and electronics in house development. Redmond specializes in motion, control, and power systems for commercial, military and rotorcraft aircraft. The Valencia location designs, manufactures, assembles, and tests hydraulic actuation components for the Aerospace Industry; in addition to providing landing gear sub‑systems, flight control hydraulic valves, actuators, hydraulic reservoirs, and accumulators, as well as repair services.

Responsibilities

Position Description

Reporting to the President, the Vice President of Operations will be responsible for developing and leading the manufacturing strategy that supports company objectives for OTD, productivity, cost, and quality. As a key member of the senior leadership team, she/he will participate regularly in evaluating and establishing the company’s direction. They will have significant interaction with existing customers and will play a key role in meeting with potential customers to determine needs and ensure they can provide cost effective, producible solutions.

The need to foster teamwork within operations, engineering and sales is a vital expectation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build and lead a dynamic operations organization and setting the pace and example as a leader, coach, and mentor to reporting contributors
  • Promote an atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation with peers and their respective functional groups
  • Reinforce and improve a culture of high customer responsiveness, open communication, concurrent engineering, continuous improvement, and on‑time delivery
  • Ensure that on‑time delivery and quality of products is consistent with customer requirements while driving positive customer relationships
  • Meet and exceed all annual, quarterly and monthly operational plans and forecasts
  • Improve standards and processes in all phases of the operations cycle
  • Develop and implement effective inventory management approaches to optimize cost and availability considerations
  • Ensure technical support of all production processes with accurate tools, equipment, and documentation
  • Prepare annual budgets and track actual expenditures
