The Stylist engages with guests, consults on hair care needs, and recommends services and products. The role emphasizes guest total look, supports the Experience Manager (EM) and Assistant Services Manager (ASM) in performance, people, and process, and requires a passion for the beauty industry and excellent guest service.

• Perform hair services including design, cutting, coloring, texture, treatments, styling, updos, perms, blowouts, keratin treatments, extensions, makeup, and ear piercing (where applicable).
• Meet or exceed an average weekly sales goal of $800 and productivity goals for hair services, contributing to store retail, service sales, and guest loyalty targets.
• Demonstrate business acumen by identifying growth opportunities.
• Perform product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance the guest experience.
• Support in-store events, promotions, and marketing initiatives to deliver an unrivaled guest experience.
• Stay informed on industry trends, product ingredients, and benefits to better serve guests.
• Maintain punctual, regular attendance.

• Build guest relationships through consultation and appropriate retail/service recommendations.
• Demonstrate high standards of customer service and salon image.
• Serve all guests promptly and efficiently.
• Collaborate with skin therapists and retail team for a total-store experience.
• Develop professional peer and brand partner relationships to enhance guest service.
• Share benefits of the Ulta Beauty loyalty program and app.
• Attend mandatory trainings and meetings for continuous professional development.

• Know and enforce Ulta Beauty policies, procedures, and standards.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures; comply with state board guidelines.
• Adhere to established service protocols for consistency.
• Use booking and clientele systems to schedule guests and events.
• Communicate supply needs to the EM for guest readiness.
• Maintain store operational standards—salon, salesfloor, restrooms, backroom, break area.
• Follow Ulta Beauty dress code.
• Protect company assets through loss prevention best practices.
• Execute additional operational tasks as directed.

• Cosmetology license

• Previous relevant salon experience is preferred.

• Proficiency in latest salon techniques across all service categories.
• Proficiency with equipment and chemicals required for technical work.
• Ability to recommend and sell professional hair care and makeup products.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and clientele.

• Work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Frequent mobility during shift.
• Continuous lifting and/or moving up to 10 lbs during shift.
• Frequent stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, twisting, and crouching during shift.
• Ability to stand for long periods during shift.
• Continuous and/or frequent coordination and manipulation of objects during shift.

The pay range for this position is the higher of $16.66 - $19.00 per hour or services pay per week, based on factors such as education, experience, level, shift, and location. Eligible associates may also earn overtime, tips, and benefits. Full-time associates receive paid time off, health, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits; part-time associates receive dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
