Position: Life Enrichment Coach - Walk In Interview

Summary

The primary role of the Life Enrichment Coach (LEC) is to encourage personal growth through goal‑based support as well as providing daily living support to KIM clients in their home and in the community. LEC’s will strive to motivate and encourage clients toward their goals, reflecting the Residential Service Guidelines.

Salary

$17.50 - $18.50 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Acknowledge and advocate for the needs, wants, and rights of clients with dignity and respect.
  • Teach useful emotional and behavioral regulation techniques.
  • Identify areas of change that clients on their caseload would like to achieve.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop action plans that center on the actualization of their stated ambitions.
  • Help clients achieve goals by suggesting different actions necessary to take control of future plans.
  • Assist with client money management such as petty cash, receipts, checkbook and EBT’s.
  • Supervise clients to ensure adequate safety.
  • Ensure adequate health care for each client.
  • Ensure clients have access to regular meals.
  • Transport and accompany clients to and from all agency outings, activities, and health appointments, and/or arrange transportation services as appropriate.
  • Assist client with daily hygiene as outlined in care plans, including personal care such as brushing teeth, bathing, hair washing, toileting, etc. (if applicable).
  • Perform other responsibilities as defined by management.
Education and Experience
  • High school graduate or equivalent (required)
  • Intermediate experience with supporting living, preferably with individuals developmentally or otherwise disabled adults.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Criminal background check cleared before working alone unsupervised with the clients.
  • Valid driver’s license or State .
  • Ability to follow instructions, organize and set priorities.
  • Outstanding communication skills, including active listening, writing, speaking and reading comprehension.
  • Being able to engage in critical thinking.
  • Daytime shifts will require a reliable vehicle and car insurance OR a transportation plan.
