We are searching for caring, detailed, and respectful people to join our team as Life Enrichment Coaches (LECs). This position is on the front lines, working directly in the homes of adults with developmental disabilities. You will work with the clients on their goals listed within their structured support plans, assist clients with activities of daily living (i.e.. cooking, cleaning, personal care & hygiene), take them to appointments and other necessary outings, and help them achieve independence.

Summary

The primary role of the Life Enrichment Coach (LEC) is to encourage personal growth through goal-based support as well as providing daily living support to KIM clients in their home and in the community. LEC’s will strive to motivate and encourage clients toward their goals, reflecting the Residential Service Guidelines. The pay range is $17.50 - $18.50 per hour.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Acknowledge and advocate for the needs, wants, and rights of clients with dignity and respect.
  • Teach useful emotional and behavioral regulation techniques.
  • Identify areas of change that clients on their caseload would like to achieve.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop action plans that center on the actualization of their stated ambitions.
  • Evaluate clients’ advancement toward goal actualization.
  • Encourage continued and sustainable progress.
  • Evaluate clients’ advancement toward goal actualization.
  • Help clients achieve goals by suggesting different actions necessary to take control of future plans.
  • Coordinate individualized programs for clients and document activity thoroughly.
  • Assist with client money management such as petty cash, receipts, checkbook and EBT’s.
  • Supervise clients to ensure adequate safety.
  • Keep all hazardous materials, medications, etc. in the designated secured location.
  • Implement a safe and clean environment in which our clients live.
  • Report promptly instances of injuries, behaviors, abuse, and safety hazards, etc. to management, following the Chain of Command.
  • Ensure adequate health care for each client.
  • Ensure clients have access to regular meals.
  • Transport and accompany clients to and from all agency outings, activities, and health appointments, and/or arrange transportation services as appropriate.
  • Provide appropriate documentation for each appointment to management in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with medical offices and pharmacies.
  • Administer medications to clients and document accordingly.
  • Assist client with daily hygiene as outlined in care plans, including personal care such as brushing teeth, bathing, hair washing, toileting, etc. (if applicable).
  • Maintain client confidentially.
  • Maintain appropriate staff/client relationships.
  • Safeguard all company and client property.
  • Maintain an ongoing inventory of client’s personal property.
  • Complete all forms, reports, and data sheets for caseload.
  • Be aware and abide by all agency policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Maintain open communication with supervisor and management team to report any concerns with clients, scheduling, and/or other staff.
  • Report to work on time.
  • Remain awake and alert while on duty.
  • Abstain from partaking of or possessing any illegal drugs or alcohol while on duty.
  • Perform other responsibilities as defined by management.
Education and Experience
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Current criminal background check cleared by DSHS before working alone unsupervised with the clients.
  • Valid driver’s license or Washington State .
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
