Freightliner Northwest is hiring a Parts Manager at Gordon Truck Centers, Inc. (GTC) in Yakima, WA.

The Parts Manager will oversee the Parts Department areas of responsibility including procurement, inventory control, staff utilization, pricing, merchandising, advertising, and ensuring profitable operations. Responsibilities- Manage the department P&L, control costs, and create/implement profitability growth opportunities.
- Lead a staff of parts counter and embedded department parts support personnel, including hiring, training, scheduling, payroll, performance coaching, and goal setting.
- Implement safety systems and procedures for staff and company property.
- Conduct regular meetings to discuss activities, problems, and strategies for operational efficiency.
- Design and maintain staff cross‑training programs and ensure training compliance via the company Learning Management System.
- Develop career path growth for staff.
- Monitor inventory control to minimize obsolescence, maintain healthy stock through cycle counting, zero location process, inventory turns, lost sales tracking, loss control, and core management.
- Ensure vehicles and equipment are safe and operational.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a clean, organized department.
- Facilitate cross‑department communication to ensure timely parts turnaround.
- Build and maintain customer relationships, handling complaints promptly and following dealership guidelines.
- Develop and enforce customer‑service guidelines to maximize satisfaction.
- Promote sales specials to customers.
- Maintain vendor relationships.
- Manage freight recovery for freight carriers for inbound and outbound freight.
- Work with sales and corporate staff to set a pricing policy balancing volume, loyalty, and costs.
- Collaborate with leadership to establish department goals and use project management tools to meet deadlines.
- Communicate regularly to upper management about successes, failures, and departmental needs.
- Other duties as business needs require.
- Education: College degree or relevant on‑the‑job experience preferred.
- Experience: Minimum four years of parts management or equivalent experience.
- Skills: Working knowledge of dealership level parts department, proven leadership, professionalism, safety‑mindfulness, excellent verbal and written communication, customer service, multi‑tasking, independence and teamwork. Familiarity with Procede, DTNAConnect, Parts Pro, Paragon, Power BI Reporting, Cummins, CAT, and Absorb preferred.
- Physical Demands: Standing, bending, stretching, manipulating a computer keyboard, use of a telephone; occasional heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Environmental Demands: Mostly indoor work; occasional noise from operation departments.
- Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, shift flexibility required. Off‑hour shifts may be required for special events.
- Compensation: $80,000–$85,000 base salary plus incentive program, based on experience.
