Inside Sales Representative – Yakima, WA

We are looking for an Inside Sales Representative to join our PLATT team in Yakima, WA. The position is permanent (Unbefristet) and falls within the Vertrieb family of roles.

Summary: The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for proactive telephone and e‑mail sales and marketing efforts aimed at increasing profitable sales. Responsibilities include establishing and maintaining customer relationships, processing quotes and orders, pursuing product and application knowledge, and prospecting for organic growth from existing customer base.

What You'll Do
  • Process telephone orders by quoting product prices, delivery specifications, and payment terms, and by offering substitute products where appropriate.
  • Assist outside sales personnel by processing priority transactions.
  • Use company digital tools to sell, market, demonstrate products, answer technical questions, and increase business with new and existing customers.
  • Prospect for new accounts within a specified geographical territory.
  • Manage a defined customer base and establish and maintain customer relationships.
  • Learn and evaluate customer operations to identify objectives, requirements, and preferences; close orders and resolve issues promptly using root‑cause analysis.
  • Process product quotations/proposals and provide continuous follow‑up throughout the customer purchasing cycle.
  • Gather and report to management information regarding company competitors, pricing, products, and market trends.
  • Participate in product meetings, process seminars, and training to enhance personal and product knowledge.
  • Pursue product applications using internal specialists or other resources such as vendor representatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • 2+ years of customer service, sales, or electrical distribution experience.
  • High School diploma or GED – required.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Basic/intermediate product and application knowledge essential.
  • Positive, friendly, and helpful attitude toward customers.
  • Customer‑oriented with excellent communication, presentation, organization, and problem‑solving skills.

  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills; ability to influence decisions.
  • Highly self‑motivated.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and CRM tools.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

Compensation

For the state of Washington only, the pay range is $23.00 to $35.00 per hour, depending upon qualifications, experience, and other considerations permitted by law. Commission/Bonus Plan:
