Job SummaryTo assist the Club Tutor Teacher and provide individualized student support, helping students understand concepts and complete assignments. This position also supervises program areas and youth participants, upholding the organization’s mission.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Assist in enhancing the education, development, and progress of students.
- Maintain a growth mindset toward student learning and teaching practice.
- Encourage problem‑solving by fostering curiosity and critical thinking skills.
- Assist youth with homework or special projects and enrichment activities.
- Assist youth with behavioral challenges and ensure they follow success plans.
- Implement the 5‑Key Elements for Positive Youth Development.
- Exhibit the Club Values of Excellence, Impact Driven, Teamwork, and Good Character.
- Ensure program activities follow the Club’s policies.
- Responsible for the safety and security of the youth in the facility.
- Communicate daily updates or concerns to your supervisor at shift’s end.
- Accompany bus driver or transport youth in a Club van after nightly program.
- Attend monthly all‑staff meetings, bi‑weekly one‑on‑one meetings with your supervisor, and team meetings.
- Assist your supervisor in developing and achieving a performance plan.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Previous work with elementary‑aged children.
- Commitment to working five days a week.
- Ability to understand, implement, and demonstrate behavior‑management principles and youth treatment modalities per Club training and Values of Fun, Supportive Relationships, Recognition, Opportunities and Expectations, and Safety.
- Capacity to provide leadership, on‑the‑spot and reflective feedback, and supervision to assigned employees to ensure they also demonstrate principles of behavior‑management and youth treatment modalities per Club training and Values.
- Capacity to observe, interact, and communicate with youth, staff, volunteers, educators, and others at the Club.
- Ability to stand or sit for long periods during a shift.
- Ability to operate general office equipment such as PC, telephone, copier, etc.
- Position is considered safety‑sensitive.
