Horizon Health in Yankton, SD is seeking a full-time Medical Receptionist to provide a positive first impression for the patients served in the clinic setting by utilizing customer service skill and the ability to multitask to ensure effective patient flow through the visit. Candidates must have excellent people and customer service skills. We are looking for candidates who are passionate about delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care.

Experience with computers is required, experience in the medical field is a plus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide customer service that ensures the patient experience from beginning to end of appointment is focused on service rooted in Horizon Health values, while also successfully dealing with patient grievances, concerns or complaints that may surface.
  • Manage the appointment schedule effectively to ensure appointments are scheduled for appropriate lengths of time and with the appropriate provider.
  • Collect and verify patient demographic information including name, address, insurance information and other registration forms in a private and confidential manner.
  • Communicate clear financial expectations to the patient, collect co‑pays and patient balances, coordinate payment plans and be a successful steward of resources as a part of the revenue cycle.
