Maintenance Technician - Yankton, SD

Wilson Trailer is seeking a full‑time Maintenance Technician for our day shift (6:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday–Friday). This position offers an attractive starting wage that will increase with experience, plus a full benefits package.

Position Summary
Overall responsibility for maintenance of plant equipment, including machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventive maintenance.

Essential Functions

• Perform safety inspections of hoist chains, forklifts, and tools.
• Read and understand machine schematics to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Understand hydraulics and hydraulic schematics.
• Basic electrical knowledge.
• Hold a valid driver’s license.
• Complete preventative maintenance on machinery and mechanical equipment.
• Work day shift or split shift for a few months during training.
• Pass a written test on operational knowledge.
• Be self‑motivated and able to work independently or in a team.
• Fabricate parts using a mill, lathe, and/or welder if required.

Skills And Abilities

• High school graduate or GED.
• Minimum age requirement: 18 years.
• Average computer skills for navigating systems.
• English communication: read, write, comprehend and communicate clearly.

Job Requirements

• 2–4 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
• Mechanical aptitude, good attendance, willingness to learn, and teamwork in a busy workplace.
• Pre‑employment drug test and background check required.
