To have the responsibility of providing technical support in geotechnical. This support is crucial for ensuring the safe and effective functioning of the mine, while also maintaining procedures that prevent accidents and injuries

Responsibilities-

• Developgeotechnical design criteria to support safe & optimal mine operations.
• Assist in the Development and maintenance of the Gold Mine Ground Control Management Plan
• Plan &manage the installation of mine wide geotechnical monitoring systems.
• Assist with continuous improvements in drilling and blast designs while ensuring theycomply with the best practice of the industry and site standards as they relateto Geotechnical Wall Control blasting.
• Coordinate with the Drill and Blast Engineers to ensure maximum utilization of productiondrilling equipment as it relates to Geotechnical Wall Control blasting.
• Adviceplanning and operations personnel on geotechnical issues relating to productiondrilling, blast and mine design.
• Performcritical review of technical reports, analyses, design plans, specifications,cost estimates and develop appropriate recommendations. Stay abreast of thestate of the practice in geotechnical engineering to fulfill this role.
• Manage the project and serve as subject matter expert on large/complex site planning/construction,expansion, or modifications. Provide guidance to mining manager and engineer son applicable programs, practices, and regulations.
• Supervisein-the-field effort on site reconnaissance, geologic mapping, geotechnicaldrilling, geotechnical profiling, geotechnical instrumentation, constructionquality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) activities for design, tailingsembankments, foundations, and/or other mining infrastructure.
• Contribute to strategic planning and budgeting efforts for designated engineering areas.
• Proactivelyseek improvements to the safe and geotechnically stable operation of open pit,tailings storage facilities, etc.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education-

• B.Sc. in Mining Engineering or Geology

• At least 7 years of experience with demonstrated knowledge and experience at open pit.

• Knowledge in the principles and practices of geological, and/or geotechnical engineering or a related field ofscience or engineering.
• Expertise in modelling and numericalapproaches to solving engineering challenges.
• Knowledge of appropriate software (MSOffice, AutoCAD, and geotechnical analysis)
• Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety of yourself and others.
• Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
• Proficiency in using geotechnicalsoftware.
• Strong background within Pit Wall Stability/ Blast Design/ Pit Design techniques

• Geotechnical softwaretraining/certificate.
