Commissioning Manager – Oman
Lycopodium is recruiting for a Commissioning Manager to join our site team in Oman. This role reports to the Construction Manager and is responsible for ensuring that commissioning activities comply with company, client, regulatory and contractual requirements.
Responsibilities- Plan, implement and manage all testing & commissioning, performance, and operator training to achieve handover of the project to the client.
- Provide leadership and technical direction to project staff, design consultants, subcontractors, project managers, technology vendors and blue‑collar workforce to ensure testing, pre‑commissioning and commissioning are undertaken to safety and quality standards.
- Define and lead the project’s testing & commissioning strategy.
- Prepare, implement and revise the Testing & Commissioning Management Plan in compliance with contract requirements and the strategy.
- Review the Testing & Commissioning Management Plans prepared by subcontractors or suppliers.
- Develop commissioning documentation (organisation, staffing, programme, schedules, templates, test procedures) in accordance with project requirements.
- Review mandatory documentation when it falls within subcontractors/vendors’ scope.
- Ensure all deliverables are peer‑checked and meet or exceed ISO 9001 quality standards.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant processes, designs and operating strategies.
- Notify all relevant stakeholders immediately of any risk or change to deliverables.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to meet project design criteria and deliverables.
- Contribute to improvement initiatives that support business priorities for continuous improvement.
- Register and file all relevant documentation in accordance with company approved procedures.
- Support team members as needed to ensure project deliverables are high quality and timely.
- Travel to site on an agreed rota for the duration of commissioning activities.
- Travel on an ad‑hoc basis to suit business needs.
- A degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or an equivalent field.
- Minimum 15 years of postgraduate experience in a relevant position.
- Minimum 15 years of practical experience in construction/commissioning and/or completions.
