Plant Supervisor – Sizewell
- Location: Sizewell
- Working Hours: 39 per week (Mon–Thu: 8 hrs, Fri: 7 hrs)
- Accommodation: £1143.34 tax-free CESA allowance (if 50+ miles from Sizewell)
- Overtime: Paid for all hours worked beyond contracted hours
- Shift Rate: 1.2 uplift on hourly rate where applicable
The Role
We’re looking for a proactive and safety-focused Plant Supervisor to support the Production Manager in the safe, efficient and compliant running of our Sizewell site. This is a key role ensuring our batching operations deliver high‑quality concrete, excellent customer service and full adherence to Hinkley Point and EDF requirements.
You’ll play a vital part in maintaining high standards in Health & Safety, environmental performance, plant maintenance, and stock control
, ensuring day-to‑day operations run smoothly and safely.
- Follow all NNB and Heidelberg Materials Health & Safety policies in line with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.
- Actively report Near Misses and site issues; promote a safe working culture.
- Ensure site, plant and buildings remain in a clean, safe condition at all times.
- Manage waste, water discharge and dust emissions in line with EDF environmental procedures.
- Maintain full compliance with EDF policies including quality, fraud prevention and the Competition Act (RTP).
- Accurately batch concrete to approved systems, processes and technical standards.
- Maintain constant communication with the Production Manager to ensure adequate stock levels and material availability.
- Conduct visual inspections of raw materials, reconcile stock weekly, and submit daily/weekly/month-end stock reports.
- Handle customer enquiries professionally and courteously, maintaining a high company image.
- Support production planning and scheduling to meet customer needs.
- Liaise with EDF contractors, office teams and other partners to ensure high-quality output and service delivery.
- Operate the batching plant effectively to EDF standards.
- Conduct and oversee routine plant maintenance, ensuring equipment, buildings and surrounding areas are clean and compliant.
- Report defects or issues that may affect health & safety, environmental compliance, product quality or service.
- Maintain strong working relationships with third parties and contractors.
- Protect site security at all times.
- Seek guidance from the Production Manager or Project Lead for matters outside the role’s authority.
- Carry out additional duties as required.

- Ability to work independently and confidently within a demanding operational environment.
