Transport Planner

Overview

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Planner to join an established transport team based in Yate
. This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, 10:00am - 7:00pm
.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated and enthusiastic, with previous experience in transport planning and scheduling. Strong geographical knowledge is essential.

• Create daily transport plans for timber and sheet material deliveries across the South West region
• Optimise routing for a fleet of rigid vehicles to maximise efficiency and utilisation
• Respond quickly and effectively to changing operational demands and challenges
• Communicate clearly with drivers, hauliers, warehouse teams, sales teams, and customers to ensure reliable service
• Manage re-deliveries, failed deliveries, customer-specific delivery requirements, and returns
• Maintain a strong understanding of HGV operations and load security
• Coordinate vehicle inspections, servicing, and repairs
• Ensure compliance with driver hours and working time regulations

• Previous experience in transport planning or scheduling
• Strong geographical knowledge
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
• Good understanding of transport compliance and operational best practice
