Position: Yellowknife Excavator Operator for 2026 Season
Join NWT Construction as a Skilled Mainline Excavator Operator for the 2026 construction season based in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. Drive successful road construction projects through efficient excavating practices.

In this role, you will safely operate the excavator to assist with various construction phases, working closely with ground personnel and ensuring compliance with safety and ethical guidelines. A strong background, at least 3-5 years in the road construction sector, and mastery in operating a Mainline Hoe, are essential. You will also oversee equipment maintenance and conduct thorough safety checks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage safe operation of the excavator and equipment

• Oversee daily maintenance and perform safety inspections

• Work with ground team on pipe laying and grading

• Achieve accurate trench depth and grading

• Educate staff on safe operating procedures

Requirements:

• Class 5 driver's license is required

• 3-5 years of experience in road construction

• At least 5 years of Hoe operation experience

• Class 1 or 3 driver's license is beneficial
