Senior Building Inspector

Step into a rewarding role as a Senior Building Inspector with the City of Yellowknife. This position focuses on leading plan reviews and regulatory inspections to support urban development initiatives.

As the Building Inspector III, you will be a vital part of the Planning and Development Department, guiding complex projects and ensuring compliance with building codes.

Your role will require mentoring junior inspectors while handling a diverse workload and conveying technical information clearly and diplomatically.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate complex inspections and plan reviews

• Mentor Building Inspectors I and II for development

• Coordinate department operations effectively

• Communicate regulations and building practices

• Ensure compliance with energy-efficient building standards

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in architecture, engineering, or similar

• Level III Certification from a recognized authority

• Over six years of relevant experience

• Strong knowledge of construction materials and codes

• Valid Class 5 driver's license
