High School Physical Education Teacher

Empower students at Ecole Sir John Franklin as a High School Physical Education Teacher with Yellowknife Education District. Teach Grades 9 to 12, with a focus on physical education and career-life education.

This full-time role is designed for educators who have a Bachelor's in Education and NWT Teacher Certification. Ideal candidates will possess a degree in kinesiology or physical education and bring an understanding of competency-based education and universal design for learning. You will also work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach physical education to Grades 9-12 students

• Deliver Career-Life Education classes

• Implement competency-based education methodologies

• Collaborate with other educators and staff

• Ensure adherence to universal design in learning environments

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Education required

• NWT Teacher Certification required

• Degree in kinesiology or physical education preferred

• Experience teaching at the secondary level

• Original Vulnerable Sector Check within 90 days
