Electric Plant Operator NT

Become an Electric Plant Operator at NTPC in Yellowknife, NT. Safely operate generators while maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations and contributing to continuous improvements.

In this role, you will work under the guidance of the Manager of Plant Operations Hydro. Responsibilities include operating both hydro sites and diesel generators, along with performing necessary maintenance and safety protocols. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success in this challenging environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Synchronize and operate hydro and diesel equipment

• Perform maintenance and housekeeping as scheduled

• Log readings and monitor operational conditions

• Assist in managing safety protocols and system restoration

• Identify and eliminate hazards proactively

Requirements:

• Minimum Grade 10 with Journeyperson experience

• Valid Red Seal or NWT certification in related trades

• Skills in reading blueprints and technical documents

• Familiarity with CMMS and general computer applications

• Clean criminal record and valid driver’s license
