Take on the challenge of Hydro Plant Operator with NTPC in Yellowknife, NT, responsible for the safe operation of electrical generation units. Your expertise will ensure compliance with health and safety protocols while managing hydro and diesel units effectively.

As part of the Plant Operations team, reporting directly to the Manager, you will engage in the operation and maintenance of both hydro sites and diesel generators.

Your role will involve regular monitoring and operational log-keeping, along with ensuring workplace safety for team members and visitors alike. Experience in power generation will greatly enhance your contributions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and operate diesel and hydro generating units

• Use programmable logic controllers for load coordination

• Manage preventive maintenance and safety inspections

• Assist in restoring systems post-disturbance

• Conduct orientations to ensure safety awareness

Requirements:

• Minimum of Grade 10 education; 3 years Journeyperson level experience

• Red Seal or relevant Journeyman certification

• Proficient in blueprint reading and CMMS

• Strong planning and communication skills

• Must possess a valid class 5 or class 3 driver's license
