Municipal Enforcement Officer

Position: City Municipal Enforcement Officer
Make a difference in Yellowknife as a Municipal Enforcement Officer, focusing on law enforcement and community service. This role requires proactive engagement with residents and rigorous adherence to by-laws.

You will work under the guidance of the Supervisor, Enforcement Operations, ensuring compliance with municipal regulations and providing high-quality customer service. Candidates with a post-secondary diploma and sufficient law enforcement experience are encouraged to apply. Your primary duties will include patrolling, investigating complaints, and providing support during events.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct customer service interactions with residents and visitors

• Patrol the city by various means every shift

• Ensure compliance with transportation laws

• Investigate community complaints thoroughly

• Support traffic management for other City services

Requirements:

• Diploma in police studies or related discipline

• Minimum of 2 years of law enforcement experience

• Valid NWT class 5 driver’s license

• First aid and law enforcement training certifications required

• Must pass a criminal records check for employment
