Position: Lead Advisor for Indigenous Negotiations
Drive reconciliation efforts as the Lead Advisor for Indigenous Negotiations with the Government of Northwest Territories. This role emphasizes strategic advice for Aboriginal rights and UNDRIP guidance.

In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in steering the Government of the Northwest Territories' initiatives toward building respectful intergovernmental relationships. You will facilitate negotiations concerning land, resources, and self-governance while ensuring that all agreements align with the principles of self-determination. Your ability to analyze complex data will aid in developing effective policy and consultation strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Offer strategic counsel on Aboriginal rights and reconciliation methods

• Lead the creation of negotiation mandates for agreements

• Support Indigenous negotiations and analyze pertinent agreements

• Foster collaboration between departments and Indigenous partners

• Develop briefing materials and submissions for decision-making

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience

• Experience in policy drafting and negotiation

• Master’s degree with 1 year of pertinent work

• Diploma with 5 years of related experience

• High school degree with 7 years in similar fields
