Municipal Enforcement Officer

Serve the community as a Municipal Enforcement Officer II with the City of Yellowknife. This crucial role demands law enforcement expertise, community engagement, and a commitment to compliance and safety.

In this position, you will operate under the guidance of a Supervisor within Enforcement Operations. Your responsibilities will include patrolling the city, engaging with citizens and ensuring adherence to traffic laws and municipal by-laws. Candidates must showcase strong communication skills and a background in law enforcement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage professionally with residents and visitors

• Conduct patrols by vehicle, foot, or bicycle

• Ensure compliance with motor vehicle legislation

• Investigate complaints for effective resolutions

• Provide traffic control as needed for city departments

Requirements:

• Post-secondary diploma in police studies or related field

• Minimum 2 years of law enforcement experience

• Valid NWT class 5 driver's license

• First aid and specialized training certificates

• Must pass a criminal records check
