Drive transformative urban change in Yellowknife as a Lead Planner. Leverage your extensive planning experience to manage strategic development initiatives and enhance community planning efforts. The City of Yellowknife is expanding its Planning and Setting Division and is inviting applications for a Lead Planner. You will be instrumental in guiding major planning projects and policies that tackle pressing urban challenges and housing needs.
Your role will also involve mentoring junior staff to foster a productive work setting.
Key Responsibilities Oversee major urban development projects with strategic alignment
Make critical recommendations for development permits
Research and present data-driven municipal strategies
Guide junior planners in developing their skills
Ensure effective implementation of urban planning policies
Requirements Degree in urban and regional planning or similar
At least six years of relevant municipal planning experience
Full membership with CIP and APPI required
Skills in ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and rendering software
Current NWT Class 5 Driver's License
