Law Enforcement Officer II - City

The City of Yellowknife is looking for a dedicated Law Enforcement Officer II with a background in police studies and two years of field experience. In this role, you’ll patrol city areas, engage with community members, and ensure compliance with traffic laws and municipal regulations. Your duties will include investigating local complaints and fulfilling court obligations as needed, all while providing high-quality service to residents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Patrol city areas on various transport means

• Interact professionally with residents and visitors

• Monitor compliance with traffic and municipal by-laws

• Handle complaints regarding community concerns

• Support other city departments with traffic control

Requirements:

• Diploma in police studies or related field

• At least 2 years of relevant law enforcement experience

• Valid NWT class 5 driver’s license

• Required first aid and specialized enforcement training

• Must pass a criminal records check pre-employment
