Position: Senior HR Specialist for Northern Community Support
Join Make Way as a Senior Specialist in People, Engagement, and Learning in Northern Canada. This full-time role is designed for passionate HR professionals who seek to improve community engagement and support in unique Northern contexts.

Located in Yellowknife, NT, you will provide essential HR guidance to Northern Shared Platform projects and the broader Foundation’s Northern Program team. Your expertise will help resolve complex employee relations matters and enhance people practices reflective of the region’s values. Collaborating with various stakeholders, you’ll strengthen organizational capacity and ensure compliance with PEL policies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as main point of contact for PEL across Northern projects

• Advise on employee relations and conflict resolution strategies

• Provide support in recruitment and organizational development

• Implement HR policies and participate in governance structures

• Monitor and address trends within Northern teams and projects

Requirements:

• Relevant post-secondary education or equivalent experience

• 3-5 years of HR work with Northern and Indigenous communities

• Knowledge of applicable employment laws

• Experience in nonprofit sectors is advantageous

• CPHR designation or intent to pursue preferred
