City GIS Specialist Role

Join the City of Yellowknife as a GIS Systems Specialist and play a vital role in community enhancement. Utilize your GIS expertise to improve service delivery through spatial data.

In this position, you will support the Manager of Strategic Planning, Integration & Geospatial Services. Key responsibilities include managing the City's Enterprise GIS, developing and maintaining GIS databases, and integrating GIS data with other applications. You'll also participate in GIS mapping and infrastructure coordination to elevate municipal services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in Enterprise GIS development and support

• Manage and maintain GIS databases effectively

• Ensure GIS integration within corporate systems

• Develop web applications and dynamic mapping tools

• Enhance the City's GIS infrastructure maintenance

Requirements:

• Relevant university degree or technology diploma

• At least five years in GIS project management

• Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server structures

• Experience with FME preferred; certification is a plus

• Proficient in Python for automation and reporting
