Geospatial Services Specialist

Make an impact with the City of Yellowknife as a GIS Systems Specialist focused on geospatial services. Utilize your skills to support essential municipal functions and community projects.

As part of our team, you will report to the Manager of Strategic Planning, Integration & Geospatial Services and provide expert support for complex GIS projects.

Your role will involve managing GIS databases, developing applications, and integrating spatial data into the City's systems, ensuring the quality and functionality of GIS services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the City's Enterprise GIS and related projects

• Develop and maintain GIS databases and applications

• Coordinate integration of GIS with various software

• Maintain GIS infrastructure for optimal performance

• Create and manage mapping websites for public use

Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in Geography, GIS, or relevant field

• Minimum five years of GIS and project management experience

• Proficient with Microsoft SQL Server databases

• Familiarity with FME and GIS data systems

• Experience with Python for automation tasks
