Position: Aquatic Scientist with Environmental Department
Shape water quality monitoring in the Northwest Territories as an Aquatic Quality Scientist with the Department of Environment and Climate Change. This role focuses on research, analysis, and community engagement in aquatic health initiatives.

You will plan and implement comprehensive research programs to monitor ecosystem health, focusing on water quality assessments in the NWT. Your responsibilities include leading data collection efforts, analyzing trends, and communicating findings to stakeholders, while also managing the associated financial and contractual elements to ensure project success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and oversee comprehensive water quality research programs

• Conduct data collection and interpretation across aquatic ecosystems

• Manage stakeholder communications and research dissemination

• Develop budgets and project outlines for research activities

• Engage with communities on water quality issues regularly

Requirements:

• M.Sc. with two years’ experience in aquatic sciences

•

B.Sc. with four years’ experience in related fields

• Proven experience in multidisciplinary scientific teams

• Understanding of Indigenous community collaboration

• Excellent data management and proposal writing skills
