Municipal Enforcement Officer

Become a vital part of the Yellowknife community as a Municipal Enforcement Officer II. This role involves law enforcement, compliance monitoring, and fostering community safety through professional service.

The City of Yellowknife is seeking a Municipal Enforcement Officer II with at least 2 years of law enforcement experience. This position includes conducting patrols, enforcing compliance with municipal laws, and engaging directly with residents and visitors. You will also investigate complaints, provide traffic control, and assist various city departments in maintaining safety and order.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage with residents and visitors to provide excellent service

• Conduct patrols on foot, vehicle, bicycle, or snowmobile

• Ensure compliance with traffic and parking regulations

• Investigate complaints and enforce dog ownership responsibilities

• Provide traffic control and assist other city services

Requirements:

• Post-secondary diploma in police studies or law enforcement

• Minimum 2 years of law enforcement experience

• NWT class 5 driver’s license

• Valid first aid certificate and various necessary training

• Criminal records check required prior to employment
