Journeyman Oil Burner Mechanic

We are looking for a Journeyman Oil Burner Mechanic to join our Residential team in Yellowknife, NT
. Reporting to the Facilities Manager
, this is a licensed and specialized position and will work on our team of Maintenance Technicians.

• Plumbing and renovation work in accordance with work orders, plans, and specifications
• Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning oil burners, layout and assemble oil burner heating system components, test installed units, and adjust controls for proper functioning
• Perform preventative maintenance work on motors, pumps, control devices, boilers, forced air furnaces and oil-fired hot water tanks
• Identifying supplies and compiling a materials list for sealift
• Assists in inventory and stock control
• Will be required to be part of a call-out team dealing with emergencies on a rotating basis
• Some travel may be required to other communities as necessary
• Ensure safety standards are met

• The applicant must possess a valid journeymen’s ticket in OBM, plumbing experience considered an asset
• The successful applicant must have a current class 5 driver’s license and be able to provide a criminal background check free from relevant convictions
• Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in the property management or facilities maintenance industry
• Must be conscientious, demonstrate a strong work ethic, and work well within a team environment
• Demonstrated compliance with safe work practices and safety reporting procedures
