Community Support Worker at Salvation Army

Make a difference in your community as a Community Support Worker at The Salvation Army NWT Resource Centre.

This role offers hands-on support and administrative duties to assist those in need.

As a Community Support Worker, you'll engage directly with the public, addressing their needs while providing essential services. Your responsibilities will include answering calls, sorting donations, and preparing food hampers. Work in a collaborative environment to support clients and maintain the facility's safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide reception services and answer telephone inquiries

• Distribute food hampers and clothing vouchers to clients

• Sort and organize donations received at the center

• Assist clients with laundry and shower facilities

• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of reception and food bank areas

Requirements:

• Social service experience within a community support setting

• Strong computer skills, including MS Office proficiency

• First Aid/CPR certification required

• Clear Criminal Record Check mandatory

• Ability to lift and move items up to 40 pounds

Support individuals in need with exceptional customer service and effective communication as a Community Support Worker.
