We are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor with proven experience leading the commercial delivery of high-end residential projects valued at around £25m. The ideal candidate combines expert technical knowledge with strategic commercial oversight, providing leadership across procurement, cost control, contract compliance, valuations, and variations.
This is a senior role requiring a proactive, commercially confident professional who guides project teams and stakeholders to deliver exceptional quality, profitability, and compliance. You will act as the principal commercial advisor on complex projects, driving informed decision-making, mitigating risk, and ensuring that high value developments are delivered seamlessly from inception to final account.
All the responsibilities we’ll trust you with- You’ll lead the end-to-end procurement process, securing the best value and driving cost efficiency.
- You’ll manage and report on all project financials, delivering accurate insights and commercial control.
- You’ll negotiate and agree valuations and variations with clients and subcontractors, building strong, transparent relationships.
- You’ll oversee material purchasing and proactive cost management to keep projects on track and within budget.
- You’ll ensure subcontractor compliance, maintaining thorough documentation and adherence to standards.
- You’ll collaborate closely with site teams to achieve commercial goals and uphold exceptional quality throughout each project.
You’ll join our Central Region team, delivering a wide-ranging portfolio of high-value country projects, from £500k to £100m. Our work spans Grade I and II listed buildings, extensive refurbishments, contemporary new builds, sporting estates, boutique hotels, and grand manor houses – each requiring exceptional attention to detail and craftsmanship.
You’ll be based on-site at one of our prestigious projects, joining a warm and professional team known for their expertise, collaboration, and commitment to excellence.

- You’ll hold an HNC or Degree in Construction or Quantity Surveying, demonstrating a solid technical foundation.
- You’ll have a strong understanding of high-end residential construction and the standards it demands.
- You’ll apply sound knowledge of contract law and property taxation to support effective commercial decisions.
- You’ll understand both traditional and modern build methods, bringing versatility to varied project requirements.
- You’ll be confident using Excel and digital reporting tools to analyse data and track project performance.
- You’ll bring excellent numeracy and commercial management skills, ensuring accuracy and financial control throughout each project.
Proven experience leading the full commercial delivery of high end residential or heritage construction projects, with strong control of contracts, costs, procurement and stakeholder negotiations at senior level.
