Make a real difference in the lives of learners at Yeovil College. We’re inviting you to join our team as a Learning Support Practitioner, working 35 hours per week, term time only, where you’ll play a pivotal role within our dedicated Foundation Learning team.
As a key member of our team, you’ll make a lasting impact by supporting students one‑on‑one, helping them reach their full potential. Managing your own case load, you’ll collaborate with passionate educators to create a supportive environment where students thrive academically and personally.
Responsibilities- Manage your own caseload.
- Collaborate with educators to support student learning.
- Build strong relationships with staff, parents, and carers.
- Drive the “fitness to study” process and implement strategies that promote student success.
- Act as a liaison, empowering students to develop essential life skills such as time management, organisation, communication, budgeting, and decision‑making.
- Level 2 English or Mathematics (or equivalent) or willingness to achieve.
- Level 3 award in Supporting Individuals with Learning Disabilities (or willingness to work towards this).
- Strong communication skills, engaging effectively with students.
- Compassionate and respectful of learner needs.
- A passion for supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning.
- Annual salary: £18,862 (full‑time equivalent £24,522).
