Lecturer in Social Work
Are you a passionate Social Worker looking to inspire and develop the next generation of practitioners?
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Lecturer in Social Work to join our Higher Education team and teach on our BSc (Hons) Social Work programme, delivered in partnership with leading universities. This is an exciting opportunity for a registered Social Worker to combine professional expertise with teaching, student support and practice-based learning. If you do not currently hold a teaching qualification, support can be provided to gain one.
The RoleYou will deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across the Social Work degree programme, supporting students throughout their academic and placement journey.
Key responsibilities include:- Planning and delivering engaging lectures and workshops.
- Assessing and providing constructive feedback on student work.
- Acting as a personal tutor and supporting student development.
- Undertaking practice placement visits and reviews.
- Supporting skills days and practice learning activities.
- Working closely with local authorities, employers and placement providers.
- Contributing to curriculum development and quality assurance activities.
- Supporting student recruitment, retention and achievement.
- Current Social Work England registration.
- A BA/BSc (Hons) in Social Work.
- At least three years' post-qualification social work experience.
- Current or recent practice experience.
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for teaching, learning and developing future social workers.
- Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
- Practice Educator or Practice Supervisor experience.
- AMHP, BIA or postgraduate qualifications.
- Experience of teaching, training or supporting learners.
