Step into a hands-on role where science, creativity and student success come together at Yeovil College.

We’re looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Science and Health Technician to support practical learning across our Creative and Digital Industries Faculty, delivering engaging workshops and helping students develop the skills to succeed. This is a 30-hour per week, all-year-round role where you can put your practical skills to great use and make a real difference to our learners.

As the Science and Health Technician, you’ll deliver high-quality workshops, technical demonstration sand practical teaching, supporting our Laboratory Technician and Creative Apprenticeship programmes. You’ll keep workshop spaces safe, well-equipped and ready for learning, manage stock and equipment, and support assessment in line with awarding body standards. Working closely with the Study Programme Manager, you’ll help track student progress, meet individual needs and create a stimulating learning environment.

You’ll also get involved in department marketing, social media and college events, bringing your practical expertise, organisation and passion for student success to a varied and rewarding role. If this sounds like the role for you, we’d love to hear from you – apply today.

What we'relooking for:

* Industry experience and a good understanding of the latest developments in digital technology, with a flair for your subject area.

* Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to make complex information accessible and engage a range of audiences.

* A commitment to inclusive education, understanding diverse student needs and creating opportunities for all to succeed.

* The ability to lead, motivate and develop a team, raising standards through effective study programme development.

* Excellent organisation, IT literacy and commercial awareness, with the ability to manage priorities and maintain effective working systems.

* A creative, innovative approach, with a willingness to develop your design knowledge and skills. Maths and English at Level 2 or equivalent.
