Performing Arts and Production Arts Study Programme Manager

The arts are coming back to Yeovil College — and you could help shape what comes next. This is a brand-new role with the opportunity to build our new Performing Arts and Festival Production curriculum from the ground up, ahead of the opening of our flagship new building. With state‑of‑the‑art facilities putting Yeovil College firmly back on the map for Performing Arts, this is a chance to create something exciting, relevant and industry-focused from day one.

As our Performing Arts and Production Arts Study Programme Manager, you’ll lead the development of new study programmes across areas such as Dance, Music, Drama, Acting, Directing, Sound, Lighting, Staging, Audio-Visual, Props and Set Design. You’ll work with employers, creative organisations and industry partners to understand emerging skills needs and turn them into engaging, commercially viable curriculum. Alongside curriculum development, you’ll build strong industry networks, organise employer engagement events and ensure our programmes deliver the skills and experience students need to progress into the creative industries.

If you’re passionate about the arts, know what industry needs and want the opportunity to build something from the ground up, this could be the role for you.

What we're looking for:
  • Industry experience in the arts – with strong knowledge of Performing Arts and/or Production Arts, such as Dance, Music, Drama, Acting, Directing, Sound, Lighting, Staging, Audio-Visual, Props or Set Design.
  • Current industry knowledge – you understand the latest developments across the Creative & Digital Industries and have strong links with employers and industry stakeholders.
  • Curriculum experience – you’ve developed engaging curriculum, resources or programmes and understand how to turn industry needs into great learning opportunities.
  • A passion for teaching and learning – with experience supporting students and creating an inclusive environment where they can develop their skills and achieve.
  • Relevant qualifications – a degree or qualification in Performing Arts, Production Arts or a related area, alongside a teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
  • A proactive, organised approach – you’re confident working with others, building relationships, managing your workload and using your initiative to make things happen.
What we offer:
  • Annual Salary: £30,966 to £39,917
  • Full-time position, 37 hours per week, all year round.
  • 35 days holiday (plus Christmas closure & bank holidays)
  • Generous pension scheme of 28.68% employer contributions
  • Staff discount scheme with high street and online retailers
  • Opportunities for professional development and career growth
  • Employee assistance programme
  • Free onsite gym
  • Subsidised catering facilities
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Access to free staff parking
