If you enjoy turning ideas into precision designs-and seeing your work progress from concept through to detail package-this is a role where you'll make a real difference. You'll support complex aerospace engineering projects within an established engineering environment focused on quality, delivery, and manufacturability, including Environmental Control Systems (ECS) and Life Support Systems (LSS).

What you'll be doing:
  • Support the development of concept designs, including analysis, with a clear awareness of cost and manufacturing approach
  • Produce detailed designs for new products, creating drawings and associated engineering/project documentation
  • Complete drawing packs and supporting documentation, including tolerance analyses
  • Process engineering changes and maintain accurate, controlled documentation (including configuration control considerations)
  • Liaise with production engineering and production planning to ensure the design/detail package is best suited to how it will be built
  • Work to procedures and design standards, contributing to best working practices
  • Deliver against project schedules and milestones within a multi-project team environment
What you'll bring:
  • Customer-aware, results-focused work ethic, with a strong delivery mindset
  • Mechanical design capability using both 2D and 3D CAD
  • Ideally, experience with 3D CAD (preferably Siemens NX)
  • Understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Awareness of manufacturing methodologies and design for manufacture principles
  • Basic understanding of configuration control
  • Ability to work flexibly, learn quickly, and operate effectively beyond your comfort zone in a collaborative team
Additional information:
  • Experience with precision component/small component design and fine tolerance components is desirable
  • Knowledge of machining and other manufacturing techniques is advantageous
  • Six Sigma and Lean knowledge would be an advantage

If you're an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer ready to take on complex aerospace challenges and deliver tangible impact, we'd love to hear from you.
