About the Role
This role is rewarding but can be challenging, as ECLOs support people through some of the hardest moments of their lives - fear, grief, adjustment, uncertainty. You'll also be juggling multiple work streams patient support, clinical relationships, admin, data, reporting, and the proactive promotion of the ECLO service. You'll need to be switched on, adaptable, and able to manage fastmoving, reactive situations while keeping longer term tasks on track.
The right person will be able to provide steady, compassionate support while still moving forward with practical next steps.
Key Requirements
Provide emotional support, guidance and vital information to patients and their families and carers.
Support people through their eye care pathway, connecting them with local and national services and advocating for them across health and social care systems.
Build strong relationships with clinicians, social care teams and partner organisations to deliver joined up, multiagency support.
Handle the emotional intensity of the role with deep empathy, whilst demonstrating excellent communication skills.
Manage multiple reactive and proactive work streams, including patient support, admin, data entry, reporting and service promotion balancing fastmoving daily demands with longer term priorities.
Work confidently and independently within NHS and RNIB systems and Microsoft 365, contributing effectively as part of the wider multidisciplinary team.
