Want to be part of a UK hub, in a global business that is scaling rapidly, evolving fast and radically changing the decades old delivery universe? If so, read on, as we're looking for a Depot Manager to join our Yeovil team! We're leading the logistics revolution, powering deliveries across the UK for some of the nation's biggest high-street and online brands.

Our depots are the backbone of our operation, ensuring seamless logistics and top-notch service for our customers. Whether you're handling parcels, coordinating routes, or managing depot operations, you will play a key role in maintaining our high standards and efficiency. As our network grows at lightning speed, so do the opportunities within it. This is your chance to be part of something big, where every day is fast-paced, impactful, and full of possibilities.

About the role:

In this pivotal role, you won't just manage operations‑you'll ignite performance, inspire a high‑energy team, and set new standards in customer service. You'll thrive on tackling challenges head‑on, optimising operational efficiency, and pushing for innovation that propels us toward ambitious business goals. If you're a natural leader with a passion for logistics and a knack for turning complexity into seamless service delivery, this is your chance to make an impact where every second counts!

Step into a role where every day brings new opportunities to lead, innovate, and make an impact. As Depot Manager at InPost, you'll take full responsibility for the performance and success of our depot, leading a fast paced, 24 hour parcel logistics operation and ensuring we deliver an exceptional service to our customers and partners. You'll be accountable for the overall operational performance of the depot, ensuring we consistently achieve the required service, cost, quality and performance standards.

You'll use data and key performance indicators to identify opportunities, address challenges and drive continuous improvement across the operation. You'll be responsible for developing a strong and engaged team, ensuring the right people are recruited, supported and developed to deliver against business objectives. You'll set clear expectations, encourage accountability and create an environment where people can perform at their best.

You'll also have ownership of the depot's financial performance, including budgets, costs and resource utilisation. You'll monitor performance against budget, identify opportunities to improve efficiency and take appropriate action to control costs while maintaining high operational standards. Customer service will be at the heart of everything you do. You'll build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, understand customer expectations and ensure the depot consistently delivers against agreed service levels.

You'll take ownership of issues, resolve challenges effectively and look for opportunities to improve the customer experience. Safety, security and compliance will be fundamental to your role. You'll ensure the depot operates in line with all relevant health and safety, legal and regulatory requirements, while maintaining high standards of parcel security and operational control. You'll also be a key driver of change and innovation.

We're looking for someone who challenges the status quo, embraces new ideas and actively looks for smarter and more effective ways of working. You'll share best practice, support wider business initiatives and contribute to projects that help InPost continue to grow and improve. In this role, your commercial awareness, operational expertise and ability to turn performance data into action will help shape the future success of the depot.

We're searching for an exceptional operational professional who thrives in a high energy, 24 hour logistics environment and has the confidence, commercial awareness and experience to manage a large scale operation. You'll be a great fit if you bring:

  • Proven experience managing a large scale logistics, distribution or operational environment, ideally within a depot setting.
  • Strong commercial and financial awareness, with experience managing budgets, controlling costs, monitoring resource utilisation and contributing to financial performance.
  • A strong track record of using KPIs, operational data and performance information to identify issues, improve efficiency and deliver measurable results.
