Welder

Sparkford | £15 per hour | 40 Hours per Week | Monday to Friday | Temporary to Permanent

Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting on behalf of a well‑established manufacturing company in Sparkford for an experienced Welder with TIG welding experience and experience working with stainless steel and/or aluminium. This is an excellent long‑term opportunity offering stable employment, regular overtime and the potential to secure a permanent position with a growing business.

Key Duties
  • Carry out MIG and TIG welding on a variety of metal components and assemblies.
  • Perform fabrication and assembly work in line with engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Operate welding and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, measurements and work instructions.
  • Complete internal work orders accurately using the company's ERP system.
  • Ensure production schedules and work‑to lists are achieved.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area.
  • Safely handle materials and operate manual pallet trucks (training provided).
  • Support other production areas when required.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and team productivity.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in MIG and TIG welding.
  • Fabrication experience with the ability to read and work from technical drawings.
  • Experience working with stainless steel, mild steel and aluminium would be advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of welding techniques and materials.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication skills and proficiency in English.
  • Relevant welding qualifications or certifications are desirable but not essential.
