Overview
Veterinary surgeon for a locally owned practice, where team spirit meets exceptional care. This practice, opened in 2014, has a dedicated team who have been with them for years. Based in Yeovil, it is a friendly, well-established small animal practice with a fantastic reputation in the community. They are an RCVS-accredited “Outstanding” practice for both Client Care and Inpatient Services, proof of commitment to excellence for pets and their owners.
The practice is located with ample parking, nearby shops, cafés, and a train station just a 5-minute walk away, with easy access to Exeter, Bath, and the coast for weekend outings.
You’ll be joining:
- Practice Owner and multi-certificate holder
- An experienced vet with 20 years in practice and a passion for surgery
- A new graduate vet eager to learn
- A brilliant nursing, VCA, and Client Care teams

Role and responsibilitiesThey are looking for an experienced small animal vet confident across all areas of GP practice – medicine, surgery, and client communication. You’ll have time to connect with clients, deliver excellent care, and enjoy your work without burnout. You’ll enjoy building trusted relationships, collaborating with colleagues, and providing the highest standard of care. If you’re passionate about mentoring and interested in becoming a Vet GDP Advisor, they’d love to support you as they grow the graduate team.
Workingpattern and expectations
- Full-time preferred, but flexible hours are available
- 20-minute consults as standard
- Regular team catch-ups built into the day
- Practice closes at 6pm several days a week
- No OOH
- 1 in 3 Saturday mornings only
- Salary up to £70,000 (depending on experience)
- £1,000 relocation allowance (direct applicants only)
- 5.6 weeks’ holiday + bank holidays (increasing after 2 years)
