Project Security Consultant

Salary: £149, per year

• SC Clearance required
• Experience in project security, security governance, assurance, or risk management
• Ability to advise and guide senior stakeholders, including support to the Senior Responsible Owner
• Experience maintaining security artefacts such as Security Management Plans and Security Risk Registers
• Knowledge of contractual, regulatory, and policy security requirements
• Experience supporting security audits, evidence collation, gate reviews, and security cases
• Experience assessing third-party compliance and supplier risk assurance
• Ability to produce clear security reporting for governance boards, KPIs, senior dashboards, and assurance reviews
• Strong collaboration skills for working with project teams, programme managers, procurement, business security, and technical teams

• Act as the focal point for all project security issues, providing advice and guidance to key stakeholders
• Identify, measure, record, manage, track, and elevate project security risks on behalf of the Senior Responsible Owner
• Produce and maintain project security artefacts, including the Security Management Plan and Security Risk Register
• Support compliance with contractual security requirements and internal and external security audits
• Collate evidence for gate reviews and security cases
• Validate third‑party compliance against project contractual requirements and oversee supplier risk assurance activity
• Provide security reporting for project governance boards, KPIs, senior dashboards, and assurance reviews
• Support project and programme governance by tracking and reporting security requirements, risks, dependencies, actions, and decisions
• Maintain visibility of security obligations across the project lifecycle and translate requirements into practical security activities and assurance evidence
• Work with the Project Manager, Programme Manager, and functional leads to ensure security actions, dependencies, and residual risks are owned and managed

We are seeking a Project Security Consultant to support UK programmes by providing project‑focused security governance, assurance, and risk management. This is a 6‑month hybrid role based in Bristol with around 20% onsite working, operating inside IR35 at £76.50 per hour. We are looking for someone to help protect critical projects, promote a positive security culture, and work closely with project teams, senior stakeholders, suppliers, and customers.
